Accident Attorney in Washington D.C., Maryland, and Virginia

Our Process

1. If you have been injured, you can speak with our attorneys 24/7.

After an injury, you need many things: medical care, comfort of family and friends, and you need to know your legal rights. If your injury is the result of someone else’s negligence, you can call our office 24/7- we have employees that will connect you directly to one of our attorneys who can speak with you to ensure that you can get the information you need.

2. We will schedule a free legal consultation in our office.

If you have a potential case, our attorneys will meet with you at no charge. Your meeting will last as long as necessary for the lawyer to answer your questions about how the law applies to your case and explain the options available to you.

3. If you have the following documents, you should bring them to the meeting:

  • Police report or incident report.
  • Defendant/Driver information.
  • Your automobile insurance policy.
  • Your medical insurance card.
  • All documents/bills received after medical treatment.
  • Your driver’s license.
  • Your Medicaid/Medicare cards.
  • Photographs of the damages done to the vehicles or property in the incident .
  • Photographs of injuries sustained in the accident

4. If we agree to represent you, these are the documents that you will sign.

We will have you sign three documents. The first is a retainer for legal services, setting out our contingency fee. The next two documents are authorizations, one allows us to obtain your medical records and bills, the other allows us to obtain proof of your lost income. In all cases, if we do not obtain a recovery for you, we do not collect any legal fee.

5. What happens next?

Once we have agreed to represent you, we will immediately notify the defendant’s insurance company that you have obtained a lawyer. At that point, we will act as your spokespeople and handle all communications with the defendant’s insurance representatives. If you have already provided a statement, we can get a copy of the statement.

Your job is to get healthy and to let us know if you have been referred to any additional health care providers. We will obtain all of your records and bills. We will review the documents and submit the necessary documentation to present your claim in the strongest manner possible.

We will obtain PIP and Medpay compensation on your behalf for no additional legal fees.

Once you are cleared to return to work, we will collect proof of your income and determine the amount of your claim for lost wages.

In many cases, a recovery is made through settlement. We will evaluate and obtain a settlement offer for your consideration. Remember, the case is your case and no settlement or resolution of your case will be made without your agreement.

6. What if my case doesn’t settle out of court?

In some cases, either the injuries are so great or the offer is so low that the best financial result may only be obtained after the lawsuit is filed. We will let you know if your case fits into that category.

If so, we will file your lawsuit. We have lawyers that practice in DC, Virginia, and Maryland. We will file your lawsuit and conduct discovery to make your case even stronger. Through depositions, we can learn what the other side is claiming and how they intend to defend the case.

We will represent you in all court hearings and employ experts as needed to fully explain your injuries or prove the negligence of the other side to the jury. Our attorneys have over 50 years of combined litigation experience and will be the best advocates for you.

7. What am I entitled to recover?

The law in every jurisdiction provides the categories of damages that may be recovered in a civil action. In all cases, we will seek compensation for your medical bills, lost wages, and pain and suffering. We get to know our clients so that if your case has to go to a jury, we will know your story and how to present it to the jury. If your injury has resulted in mental anguish, disfigurement, loss of the comforts of a loved one or any other change in your lifestyle, we will seek to get you the compensation you deserve.

8. When do I receive monetary compensation?
After a settlement or a verdict, we will disburse funds to you and pay off any liens on your case. In all cases, if we do not obtain a recovery for you, we do not collect any legal fee. We do not charge any hidden administrative fees and we do not charge a legal fee for collection of your Medpay or PIP recovery. Our goal is to obtain the best financial recovery for you!
